Richard Jean “Pip” Lison, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, peacefully departed this world on October 15, 2026, at his home in Scarborough, Maine. Born on March 1, 1941, in Gardner, Massachusetts, Richard was the son of the late Robert and Mamie Lison.

Richard grew up in Gardner, where he graduated from Gardner High School before serving his country with honor in the United States Air Force for four years.

After his military service, Richard embarked on a career as a jeweler, a testament to his meticulous nature and appreciation for craftsmanship. He later found his calling at Aubuchon Hardware in Sanford, Maine, where he spent 37 years as a manager. Respected for his integrity and leadership, and always ready with a helping hand, Richard became known throughout the Sanford community as “Mr. Aubuchon.”

Richard’s life was enriched by his membership in the Knights of Columbus, where he served as treasurer of the Sanford council for several years before his health declined.

In his leisure time, Richard found joy in building and flying remote-controlled model airplanes; a hobby he often enjoyed sharing with his grandson, Corey. In later years, he turned his focus to crafting models in his workshop and settling in for a good football game or a NOVA special on TV.

Richard shared 66 years with his wife, Leonnette, who stood by his side through life’s joys and challenges. In addition to Leonnette, he is survived by his brother Denis; son, Michael Lison, and daughter-in-law, Jessica; his granddaughter, Arien Lison; his grandson, Corey Lison, and Corey’s partner, Alexandria Twombly; his great-granddaughter, Madelynn Lison. Madelynn’s arrival brought new light into Richard’s life, and she became the sunshine of his final months.

Richard was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mamie; his brother Ronald; and his cherished daughters, Allison and Corinne.

There will be no services at this time. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Northern Light Hospice, especially Stephanie, Kaitlyn, Melina, and Steven, for their unwavering support and kindness during Richard’s final days.

I’m so sorry for your loss, my condolences to your family. Most especially my niece Arien and nephew Corey. Many days spent taking Corey over to his grandparents house to help his grandpa out and fly planes. Love Aunt Sandy
