Michelle Wagner Brooks

July 30th, 1958 - October 3rd, 2026
Michelle Wagner Brooks, 68, of Portland, Maine, born July 30, 1958, passed away on October 3, 2026, after a year-long battle with cancer.
Michelle was a longtime resident of Portland and worked at Americold Logistics, where she took great pride in her career and in following in her father’s footsteps.
She enjoyed the simple things that made her happiest: sunny days, a good book by the water, sushi, cocktails, her “medium regular, extra extra” from Dunkin’, and the holidays—especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also loved her Portland home and was proud to have made it her own.
Michelle is survived by her children, Courtney and her husband, Mike, Kayla and her husband, Jon, and Denny and his partner, Eric; her grandchildren, Jace, Jack, Tommy, and Owen; her sister, Brenda and her husband, Larry; John, her brother-in-law; her dear friend, Alison; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Stephanie, and her parents, Frank and Barbara.
Her family is grateful to everyone who offered support, care, and kindness throughout her illness. Michelle chose to keep much of her journey private, and her family deeply appreciates those who respected her wishes while continuing to be there for her.
A small, private celebration of life will be held at a future date. Details will be shared with family and close friends.
She will be remembered for her independence, her sense of humor, the life she built, and the many memories shared with those closest to her.
You fought hard, Mom, and we are so proud of you. We will love you forever.

Michelle was my step-sister and a close friend for many years. We did everything together while we both were single. As a matter of fact I was a little disappointed when my now husband asked her to dance instead of me. We did a bit of traveling together (TX & Quebec) and spent all of one summer sitting in the sun with peanut M&Ms and White Russians listening to Teddy Pendergrass. We had so much fun together until we had our families. I wish I knew that she had been sick. I reached out but she never replied. I will miss you my sister. Love you! Debbie One of my favorite photos!
