Pamela Jean Thayer 58 of Gardiner ME passed away peacefully at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough on June 23, 2026.Pamela was born November 6, 1967 in Damriscotta to Vedna and Kenneth Thayer. While her younger years are a mystery, for the past 7 years she has thrived with the help of her adorning community at MVRA. Pamela was known for her exceedingly pure love for animals, most recently her beloved senior cat, Fred. Pamela is also well known in her community for being a fiercely loyal friend a determined protector and someone who was always willing to lend a hand, or a cup of coffee, even if it were her last.Pamela enjoyed visiting her friends and attending get togethers at MVRA when her health allowed. However Pamela was also a big fan of a good shopping day or a nice lazy day in the house with some fresh coffee, a scary movie and something to crochet.Pamela was predeceased by her father Kenneth and is survived by her mother Vedna and her constant furry companion, Fred. Pamela is remembered for saying goodie goodie gumdrops when she was excited, along with her unforgettably contagious laugh. Pamela will never be forgotten as her spirit lives on through the many lives she touched with her cleverly unique personality.

The love and friendship Pamela shared with those around her extended far beyond what words can express. Over the years, she became an important part of the lives of her housemates, staff, and friends at MVRA. Pamela brought laughter, companionship, and her uniquely caring spirit to those fortunate enough to know her. In return, she was surrounded by a community that loved and supported her, celebrating life’s joys and facing challenges together. The impact Pamela made on the hearts of those who cared for her will be carried forward, just as the support and friendship she received helped her thrive and create many cherished memories. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
