Bruce Bressette

Bruce Bressette Sr passed away unexpectedly on August 23, 2026 at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones. Bruce was born in Lewiston, ME on October 30th, 1960 to Edward Bressette Sr and Virginia Bressette (Ames). Bruce was 1 of 8 children. Bruce was preceded by his father and mother, brothers Edward (JR), a baby boy that passed at birth and sisters Edna and Donna. 

Bruce is survived by his wife Cheryl Bressette of 40 years, son Bruce Bressette Jr and partner Samantha Ray, daughter Samantha Cooper and husband Buddy Cooper, son Curtis Bressette and partner Amanda Pettengill adopted son John Chittenden. 14 grandchildren Lacey, Natalie, Mason, Jeremia, Jaicob, Savannah, Hunter, Carter, Colton, Patience, Payton, Nicholas, Warren, Kane and 2 great granddaughters Dezirae and Eliza. Sisters Virginia Carson (Bunny), Sonya Bressette, brother Kevin Bressette and nephew Paul Bressette. Along with many nieces and nephews as well as many others that he considered family. 

Bruce was a wild child that always seemed to run into trouble with the law. At the age of 16 he dropped out of school and found a passion in building houses and working in the woods logging trees. In June of 1985 Bruce met the love of his life Cheryl Bressette (Burgess) who he married on August 30th, 1986. They welcomed two sons and a daughter. Bruce had a passion for driving trucks and went on to get his class A. He drove local for many years till his younger son turned 17 when he then went over the road for long hauls with wife Cheryl. Bruce retired in early 2019 after a car accident. He enjoyed spending the last 7 years being a papa and spending as much time as he could making memories with all of his grandchildren. 

A celebration of life will be held on October 10th, 2026 at 2pm at Bruce’s house in Buckfield. The family would like to throw one last pig roast in honor of Bruce’s passion for always hosting a family and friend gathering every year.
